“Like the Dead Sea, You’ll never sink when you are with me.”— The Lumineers
This day was magic. Magic in the sense that everything just came together like it was meant to be – from the new barn at the ranch being ready, the weather, and down to every last detail.
As I was photographing them, I noticed how relaxed and happy they both were leading up to the ceremony. I mean, it was pouring rain, and the ceremony was outdoors. The big wooden arbor by the altar blew down in the wind, chairs were toppling over, it was a sad sight to see as the clock was ticking closer and closer to the start of the ceremony. As all this was happening, Adi didn’t seem the least bit phased as she soaked in time with her closest gals. All the while, Dutch was enjoying the time with his groomsmen, waiting and hoping for the rain to stop, but willing to start moving the whole ceremony inside to the barn.
We decided to take photos under the overhang to keep dry, and as we were doing pictures, the rain STOPPED….and the clouds parted. Guests were arriving, the Ushers were putting the arbor back together, drying off all the chairs and everything went according to plan…plus lots of mud.
Heath and I were thrilled to be part of this wedding. Even if I may have accidently called 911 and had the cops show up. Thank you for allowing us to document your special day. We loved every minute of it!
